Yum Yum Chips' history in Quebec goes back to the 1950s. Today, it is a third-generation, family-owned company that adds a bit of crunch to our daily lives. Here's how our tasty story began.
Already the owner of Aliments Krispy Kernels, Paul Jalbert acquires Yum Yum Chips with his brother Louis de Gonzague. This local business, founded by the Bergeron family three years earlier, has minimal equipment and only seven employees. But things were about to take off in a big way!
The family story unfolds as Denis, Paul's eldest son, becomes the company’s General Manager. A second generation of Jalberts is now actively involved in the potato chip business to expand the family's story. Like father like son!
In 1990, Denis becomes sole owner of the business. He surrounds himself with a dynamic and dedicated team to ensure Yum Yum's continuity and enable it to continue its growth.
A third generation of Jalberts joins the company in 2000. Two of Denis' four daughters who are just as passionate as their father join the team: Renée-Maude and Valérie. Just before the death of her grandfather, Valérie takes over as General Manager in 2013.
